The Barça Academy Cup APAC 2020 has come to an end on the grounds of the Barça Academy Delhi NCR at the Heritage School, Gurgaon and was a huge success in terms of organisation. The tournament, played in four categories (U9, U11, U13 and U15), ended with the trophies shared between four different Barça Academies: Barcelona, Istanbul, Katsushika and Delhi.
The second edition was reserved to the FC Barcelona soccer schools in the Asia pacific zone, and also included the first edition of the Barça Academy Cup India, exclusively for the schools in Delhi, Mumbai and Bangalore.
rom January 2020, India will have its fourth branch of the Barça Academy project, following on from those in New Delhi, Mumbai and Bangalore with a new school in the city of Pune. This further expansion of the FC Barcelona project in India means the country matches Japan, which also has four Barça Academies in the Asia-Pacific region, with China still leading the way with six.
The Barça Academy programme in India began in 2012 with the earliest Barça Academy Camps, which have had higher numbers of participants with each edition.
